We find out that Prodrive’s 600bhp Subaru WRX STI is a true monster, and under the great hands of Mark Higgins, can destroy the record for the Isle of Man TT car lap time. Top speed was approaching 170 mph on a near 38 mile circuit. Subaru is working on a more detailed video with the audio issues fixed, so consider this a sneak peek. Thanks to Autocar for sharing the footage from Subaru dispite the onboard audio issue.

Wicked, but I reckon a derestricted BRZ Super GT300 racer will do a better time.
Then again, a 2004 BMW-Williams F1 car can do an even better job, but the risks are too high.
On the other hand, I’ll be looking into the possibilities of using some of the more streamlined designs of Shell Eco-marathon cars for such an attack.
